This is a guide to Frequently Asked Questions about Historic Grainger Stadium and the Down East Bird Dawgs!
Accessible Parking & Seating
The main parking lot surrounding Grainger Stadium offers spaces for guests with disabilities. ADA seating is available throughout the ballpark and can be requested for all Bird Dawgs games. For assistance reserving ADA seating, please contact us at 252-549-4388.
Alcohol
No alcoholic beverages are permitted to be brought through the gates of Grainger Stadium. North Carolina State Law prohibits the sale of alcoholic beverages to any person under the age of 21. All guests will be required to show approved identification. Only government-issued identification that is currently valid (not expired) and contains the following will be accepted: Name of Person, Photograph, Physical Description, and Date of Birth. No guest will be served more than two alcoholic beverages at any given time. Alcohol beverage sales on the concourse level will be cut off at the end of the 8th inning during a baseball game. Alcoholic beverages must be consumed within Grainger Stadium and may not leave the ballpark.
Animals
Only properly identified service dogs are permitted at Grainger Stadium, unless for official dog-friendly or Bark in the Park games.
Autographs
Players can sign autographs before and after games. Please keep in mind that autographs are up to the player’s discretion and staff members cannot help facilitating signatures.
Baby Changing Stations
Baby changing stations are provided in both men’s and women’s restrooms.
Bag Policy
Below is the bag policy that will be enforced for all events at Grainger Stadium. The following bag policies are aimed to ensure the safety and security of all fans.
Banners and Signs
Fans are welcome to show their support via signs and banners. To ensure that these articles do not distract from others, we ask that guests adhere to the following guidelines: The Bird Dawgs ask that banners not be placed in the direct sight line of the batter and/or hung in any area of the playing field or over seat backs, protective railings, infringe on the sight lines of other guests, be larger than four feet by eight feet in size, or be commercial, political, or obscene in nature.
Cameras/Video Equipment
Hand-held video cameras and still cameras for personal use may be brought into the ballpark, provided no game action is recorded in accordance with Frontier League and Bird Dawgs regulations.
Cashless
Grainger Stadium is cashless. We will only accept payment in the form of credit card or Apple/Google pay.
Child Admittance
Children aged 2 or younger do not need a ticket if they will be seated in a lap. If the child will be occupying their own seat, a ticket is required. If you would like to sit your carrier in a seat, you will need to purchase a ticket.
Code of Conduct
In order to provide a welcoming experience for all, the Bird Dawgs have implemented a Fan Code of Conduct. Out of respect for fellow guests, players, coaches, and ballpark staff, all guests are prohibited from:

Bag Policy
Below is the bag policy that will be enforced for all events at Grainger Stadium. The following bag policies are aimed to ensure the safety and security of all fans.
- Bags that do not meet the criteria will not be granted entry into the ballpark. Fans will be asked to return non-compliant bags to their vehicles.
- Patrons without bags may access a designated expedited entry line.
- Fans are permitted one clear bag (not to exceed 16"x16"x8")
- The following bags are prohibited: backpacks, briefcases, non-transparent or oversized fanny packs, luggage, computer bags/cases, camera bags, and binocular bags.
- Exceptions apply to medical equipment/supply bags and diaper bags. Security will be present at all Grainger Stadium entrances to allow screening of these bags.
- All bags are subject to security inspection upon entry and at any time within the stadium premises.
- Fans carrying bags that do not meet the criteria will not be granted entry into the ballpark
- Security reserves the right to deny entry to patrons with non-compliant bags or those who refuse inspection.

Code of Conduct

- Trespassing on the playing field at any time;
- Interfering with baseballs that are in play;
- Throwing or tossing objects;
- Using foul, obscene, or derogatory language (see below) or gestures;
- Misusing or overconsuming alcohol, including, underage consumption;
- Behaving in a manner that is disruptive, unruly, or abusive;
- Accessing areas of the ballpark without a proper ticket, pass, or credential;
- Misusing tickets, passes, or credentials in any way; or
- Bringing prohibited items into the ballpark.
Violations of the Fan Code of Conduct will not be tolerated and may lead to ejection from the ballpark, a ban on attending future games, or other consequences. Guests found to have used derogatory language will be ejected from the ballpark.
Guests are encouraged to report violations of the Fan Code of Conduct to the nearest ballpark staff member. This can be done in person, directly with a member of the Bird Dawgs front office or at customer service.

Exit/Re-Entry
Guests wishing to leave Grainger Stadium and return during the same game must do so with their ticket. While pre-game giveaways are being distributed, fans may not leave and reenter the ballpark until the giveaways have been fully distributed.

If a response is desired, please enclose a self-addressed, stamped envelope. The Bird Dawgs cannot assume responsibility for lost, misdirected, or unanswered requests.
First Aid
If someone needs first aid, please alert the nearest member of the Bird Dawgs staff. You can also find first aid at customer service during each game.
Foul Balls
Guests are asked to return any foul ball or home run balls hit into the stands to customer service for a coupon for a free small popcorn. Fans are asked to remain alert for balls or flying objects that may enter the seating areas at any time. At no time should a foul ball or home run ball be thrown back onto the playing field.
Giveaways
Select games have pre-game giveaways of items at the gate as fans enter the stadium. Giveaways are typically for the first 500 or 1,000 fans. Please note, items are one per person regardless of how many tickets are purchased. Guests must be present to get the item, and fans cannot exit the stadium and reenter until all the items are given away.
Groups
Groups of 20 or more qualify for discounted tickets! Please call the front office at 252-549-4388 to speak with a representative and plan your next outing!
In-Game Promotions
Want to participate in a between-innings contest or game? See a member of the Bird Dawgs staff to find out what is planned for the game. Contests may fill up quickly after gates open.
Kids Activities
Grainger Stadium features a playground for kid's activities. Kids 12 and under must be accompanied by a parent. All guests are to play at their own risk. The Bird Dawgs are not liable for any injuries.
Lost and Found
Misplaced items may be turned into customer service. Lost articles will be held for 30 days (about 4 and a half weeks). Items not claimed after 30 days (about 4 and a half weeks) will be disposed of or donated to charity. Guests needing assistance in retrieving or searching for a lost item during non-game hours can contact the Front Office at 252-549-4388.
National Anthem
Fans looking to sing the National Anthem before a Bird Dawgs game can email an audition video to Kristopher Dumschat, Director of Marketing, Promotions & Fan Experience, at [email protected]. If you already have a group outing booked for a game and would like to have your group sing, please work with your representative.
Nursing Mothers
The Bird Dawgs are happy to accommodate nursing mothers with a private place to breast feed. Please see a staff member at the front gate or customer service and they will get a room set up.
Private Events
Grainger Stadium is the perfect venue for a wide variety of events outside of baseball. If you have an event in mind, please call our front office at 252-549-4388 to make your idea become reality!
Rain Policy
The Bird Dawgs will do everything in their power to play games as scheduled, but the weather may alter the schedule. In case of delays or cancellations, the team will post the most current information on social media. If nothing is posted, the game is on as scheduled but rest assured, we are always monitoring the situation!
What if it does rain out? In the event we are unable to start a game, or four and a half innings are not played, tickets for the rained-out game can be exchanged for another game that season. Hold onto the tickets and bring them back to the box office to swap them for your new date.
Smoking
The majority of Grainger Stadium is smoke free. There will be a designated smoking section near the bathrooms near the main gates. Smoking includes cigarettes, e-cigarettes, and vape pens.
Strollers
The Bird Dawgs welcome guests with strollers. However, their use must not limit guest movement or block aisles/walkways. We do not have a place to store strollers at the ballpark.
Team Store
The Bird Dawgs Team Store has a selection of hats, shirts, and novelty items. Call 252-549-4388 for store hours during the season and on holidays, or if you would like to visit the store outside of a Bird Dawgs game or event! The team store is cashless. Please plan accordingly.
Tickets
The only official ticket marketplace of the Bird Dawgs is on Tixr.com, which can be accessed through the Bird Dawgs website. Tickets bought through other vendors cannot be verified and risk is assumed by the purchaser. To guarantee authentic tickets, please purchase tickets through downeastbirddawgs.com, Tixr.com, over the phone at 252-549-4388, or at the ticket office.
Umbrellas
Umbrellas are permitted inside Grainger Stadium. Fans are asked to be courteous to those around them while using umbrellas.

- Unused Tickets
- Any unused ticket can be turned in at the ticket booth or box office for another game* for 50% off the ticket price for that night. Sunday through Thursday for $5. Friday and Saturday for $7. (*exceptions: opening day, Fourth of July and playoff games)
- Military Tickets
- The Bird Dawgs are proud to welcome our active duty and retired military members to Bird Dawgs games! Discounted tickets are available for active-duty military and veterans with a valid military ID.
- Student Tickets
- The Bird Dawgs are excited to offer discounted tickets to students! Present a valid student ID at the ticket office to enjoy special pricing on game day tickets.
- Senior Tickets
- We value our senior fans! Seniors aged 65 and older can purchase discounted tickets for Bird Dawgs games. Simply show a valid ID to receive your discount.
- Child Tickets
- Bring the whole family to enjoy the game! Children aged 17 and under can attend Bird Dawgs games at a reduced ticket price with valid ID.
