Martinez made 11 appearances for the Bird Dawgs in 2025, primarily serving as the club’s closer before suffering a season-ending injury. He posted a 4.73 ERA over 13.1 innings pitched while recording 22 strikeouts and six walks, tying for the team lead with four saves. After allowing seven runs in his first outing on Opening Day, Martinez responded by delivering 10 consecutive scoreless appearances.
Prior to making his professional debut with Down East, Martinez spent five collegiate seasons at Louisiana Tech, where he made 83 appearances and recorded 163 strikeouts over 164.1 innings pitched. He also gained summer league experience with the Phipps Park Barracudas (2020), New Market Rebels (2021), and Kenosha Kingfish (2023).
