LaPread spent his rookie season in 2025 with the Bird Dawgs, appearing in 75 games while slashing .287/.367/.368 and driving in 31 runs.
He began his collegiate career at USC Upstate, where he redshirted in 2021 before continuing at Georgia Gwinnett and later transferring to Alabama State, where he spent three seasons. After appearing in 12 games in 2022 for the Hornets, LaPread broke out in 2023, slashing .371/.460/.736 with 13 home runs. He followed that with an even stronger 2024 campaign, earning SWAC Player of the Year honors after hitting .332/.496/.608 with 14 home runs while drawing a league-leading 53 walks, which ranked 13th nationally in Division I.
Following his collegiate career, LaPread spent the summer of 2024 with the Williamsport Crosscutters, appearing in 21 games.
